How to dry a wet dog after a walk

Keep a towel by the back door. Put a drying bag in the car before you leave.

A microfibre towel takes off the worst of the water in the hallway. A zip-up drying bag is for the boot, so the dog is not sitting on the seats. If the bag has a harness hole, feed the lead through before you zip it.
